New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the countrymen in the 116th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program today. During this, he appealed to the youth to join NCC and said, “Today is NCC Day. I myself have been a cadet of NCC and its experiences are priceless for me. NCC develops discipline, leadership and spirit of service among the youth.” The Prime Minister said that when any disaster occurs anywhere in the country, NCC cadets are the first to come forward to help.

‘Young Leaders Dialogue’ will be organized on Youth Day

Prime Minister Modi said that Youth Day is celebrated every year on 12 January on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. There are plans to celebrate it in a special way next year to commemorate the 162nd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. He said, “’Developed India Young Leaders Dialogue’ will be organized at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on January 11-12.” PM Modi also stressed the need for new and capable youth to join politics. He said that special campaigns will be run across the country to bring such youth into politics whose family members do not have any member in politics.

Appreciation of those who help the elderly in digital services

The Prime Minister praised Virendra of Lucknow, who is helping elderly people to get digital life certificates. This has made the process of taking pension easier. While mentioning Mahesh of Bhopal, he said that Mahesh is teaching the elderly to make digital payments through mobile. PM Modi also mentioned Chennai’s Prakrit Arivagam and Bihar’s Gopalganj’s Prayog Library, which are developing reading and learning habits among children.

Today people of Indian origin are leading in every field of politics, business, education and culture.” He also praised the Indian community living in Oman, which is making its mark in the business world.

Praising the efforts of social organizations and environmental protection

The Prime Minister mentioned the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, under which more than 100 crore trees have been planted in five months. He praised the Koodugal Trust of Chennai, which is working to increase the population of the sparrow. PM Modi also praised the innovation of two girls from Mumbai in making fashionable clothes from waste.
