New Delhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday inaugurated the newly constructed passenger terminal building and cargo gate at the India-Bangladesh border in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The facility is located at the Petrapole (India)-Benapole (Bangladesh) border, which is extremely important for trade and passenger movement between India and Bangladesh. On this occasion, the Home Minister strongly attacked Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for infiltration in the state. The Home Minister taunted, “Mamata Didi was happy with our reduction in seats in the Lok Sabha elections, but do not forget that we are the party which had only two seats, yet we had resolved to remove Article 370. ” He said there is state sponsored infiltration in Bengal and the only way to stop it is to elect BJP in 2026. Shah said that today in Bengal, instead of Rabindra Sangeet, the sound of bombs is being heard.
‘Stopping infiltration is our priority’
Amit Shah said in his speech, “When there is no route for legal movement across the border, illegal movement increases, which disturbs the peace of Bengal and India. I request the people of Bengal to bring about a change in 2026 and we will stop this infiltration completely. Only then will peace be established in Bengal.”

Accusations on India alliance and Mamta government
In his address, Home Minister Shah also targeted the India Alliance and said that Prime Minister Modi is committed to the development of Bengal. He alleged that Mamata Banerjee’s government did not pay enough attention to the development of Bengal during the UPA rule. He said, “The UPA government gave only Rs 2 lakh 9 thousand crores to Bengal, whereas the Narendra Modi government has given Rs 7 lakh 74 thousand crores to Bengal in the last 10 years.”
Targeted on corruption also
The Home Minister said, “The money sent by Prime Minister Narendra Modi goes to corruption. “Good days will begin in Bengal after the 2026 assembly elections.” In the context of MNREGA, he also targeted Mamata Banerjee and said that the NDA government gave Rs 56 thousand crore under MNREGA in the last 10 years, whereas only Rs 15 thousand crore was received during the UPA government. He stressed that whether the MNREGA money reaches the public or TMC workers, it should be properly tracked.
