New Delhi: After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, there is a tension between India and Pakistan. Meanwhile, India has taken another step forward to increase its war capabilities. Actually, Russia has provided a new supply of Igla-S missiles to the Indian Army. The very short distance air defense system (Vshorads) is an important part of the Indian Army’s air defense protection. The new supply of Igla-S missiles has been received as part of the contract under the emergency procurement powers given to the forces by the new supply center.

260 crore deal

At the same time, defense sources said that the new supply of Igla-S air defense missiles was received by the Indian Army a few weeks ago. This is providing advance structures to take care of threats from enemy fighter aircraft, helicopters and drones on the borders. He said that this contract of about Rs 260 crore is expected to increase the strength of the forward areas, especially in the western region, to increase the strength of the air defense soldiers. The Indian Air Force has opted for a similar contract for air defense missiles, which are infra red sensor -based Vshorads.

India is increasing the strength of the army

Let us know that the Indian Army is increasing its reserves through emergency and fast-track purchase in the last few years. In this, the main focus is given to the parts and other equipment to keep the fleet operational through speed operation. With the latest delivery of Igla-S missiles, the Indian Army has also released a tender for the purchase of 48 missiles of 48 and launcher and Vshorads (IR) under fast track processes. The army is also considering receiving new versions of laser beam-riding vshorads soon.

What is Igla-S missile

The Igla-S is an advanced version of the Igla missiles. The Igla missiles have been in use since the 1990s. The current list of missiles of the old version has also been renewed by an Indian firm in the country itself. The Indian Army needs a large number of missiles as well as the abilities to detect and destroy advanced drones along with a large number of missiles as well as advanced drones, given the threat from all kinds of unmanned air-vehicles used by the Pakistani Army on the Western Front. At the same time, the army has deployed Mark 1 of indigenous integrated drone detection and interdiction system, which can detect drones from a distance of more than 8 kilometers, can jam, cheat and kill them. Apart from this, there are laser in the system, which can burn and drop the drone.

DRDO is also developing new technology

The army’s air defense units recently killed a Pakistani army drone using the same system in front of the 16 core region in the Jammu region. The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has also developed a long distance and high -power direct energy weapon, which can kill large size drones, cruise missiles and aircraft during the war. The army will also have to receive low-level transportable radars to rapidly detect and destroy the enemy drones and aircraft working at the lower level. (With ANI inputs)
