Prior to the Independence Day celebrations, security system has been greatly increased in the entire country, in which patrolling has been increased, investigation posts for vehicles and individuals have been made and monitoring measures have been increased. Police in Delhi investigated at border posts and strategic places.
The security of the national capital has been strengthened under a multi -layered scheme with the participation of Delhi Police, Paramilitary Forces, National Security Guard (NSC), Special Security Group (SPG), military intelligence and other agencies. More than 20,000 security personnel have been deployed.
According to Delhi Police officials, advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems have been installed, including facial identification, anti -infiltration cameras, counted cameras, automated number plate identity (ANPR) and detection of abandoned items. The ANPR will scan the number plates to mark suspicious vehicles, while the facial identification system integrates the database of 3,00,000 suspects.
“The unclaimed commodity identification system will immediately play the control room in the Red Fort or if any unclaimed item is found in the Red Fort,” officials said. He said that anti -infiltration cameras would cover every wall and railing of the fort and alert the authorities about any suspicious activity or attempt to violate.
The anti-drone systems are active, sniper is deployed on roofs and more than 800 CCTV cameras are monitoring major areas. Officials said that two special control rooms inside and outside the Red Fort will track feed in real time with 426 cameras.
Joint Police Commissioner Madhur Verma said, “From the point of view of security, Delhi Police has made all arrangements for the 15 August function. More than 20,000 personnel have been deployed, including Delhi Police and other paramilitary forces. CCTV cameras have been installed on all VVIP routes leading to the Red Fort and the venue.”
Joint Police Commissioner Verma said that admission control has been applicable at the Red Fort for 20 days and regular anti-sabotage investigation is being done. Scanning system will be installed under vehicles at parking sites.
He said, “This time we have used video analytics in CCTV cameras-facial identification system, detection of abandoned items, counting of person and much more. In parking facilities, under-vehicle scanning systems are also being used. We have made multi-level security arrangements in the Red Fort. We had taken control of the Red Fort about 20 days in advance and other remedies.”
The entire Red Fort area has been sealed from the afternoon of 14 August. Delhi Police has a database of 3,00,000 criminals and if any criminal is seen around the Red Fort through the monitoring system, he will be caught immediately.
Special Commissioner of Traffic Police Ajay Chaudhary said that the ban on entry of commercial vehicles in Delhi with all border points came into effect from 10 pm on August 14 and will continue till the program ends on August 15.
He said, “Diversion will also be implemented on the routes leading to the Red Fort. A program is also being organized at India Gate, so diversion will also be implemented there. Traffic police have deployed about 3,000 personnel for this arrangement.”
Last week, on Saturday, a high-level meeting was held at the Delhi Police Headquarters to discuss the preparations for the final phase of the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort. Two meetings were held at different levels at Delhi Police Headquarters. Around 25,000 people are expected to attend the Independence Day celebrations held at the Red Fort.
Earlier, DCP Outer North Hareshwar V Swamy told ANI that cyber patrolling was done to monitor Instagram accounts posting photos and videos with weapons.
He said, “We did cyber patrolling in Instagram’s Outer North District. Checked such accounts on which photos and reels were uploaded with weapons. We checked all such accounts. Different teams were raided in the last 24 hours. We caught nine suspects and 23 indigenous pistols and 30 lives from them. Cartridges have been recovered. We have been registered on police remand.
Swamy said that the campaign was part of the instructions to tighten goons and criminals before August 15.
Meanwhile, security has been increased considerably in other major parts of the country before the Independence Day celebrations. In Chandigarh, SSP Kanwardeep Kaur said that more than 2,000 police personnel have been deployed.
The SSP said, “All areas bordering Punjab and Haryana have been blocked. All suspected vehicles are being investigated. More than 2000 police personnel have been deployed in Chandigarh.”
Chandigarh DGP Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda said, “Strong security arrangements have been made in view of the Independence Day celebrations. This time additional police force has been deployed.”
Similarly, police officers conducted a flag march on Thursday before the Independence Day celebrations in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. After the flag march, ASP Rajesh Kumar Srivastava told ANI, “In view of the Independence Day celebrations, a flag march was carried out to create a sense of security in the public.”
In Bandipora, Jammu and Kashmir, under tight security arrangements for Independence Day, BSF has deployed women personnel along the Line of Control in Gurez. Even in Mumbai, policemen investigated vehicles.
Similarly, the administration and police have made special security arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations in Agartala, Tripura.
DM Vishal Kumar, while speaking to ANI earlier, said, “In view of the sensitive situation on the boundaries, appropriate security measures including checkpoints, pickets and intelligence teams have been taken at the necessary sensitive points across the city.”
He said, “It is expected that people will participate in these programs with a lot of happiness and patriotic spirit due to complete safe arrangements and well -organized arrangements.”
