This decision was taken because, in a meeting with Sharad Pawar and Congress’s Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Gurdeep Singh Sappal in Delhi on Tuesday, Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal said that after the application of BJP leaders, 11000 people from an assembly constituency in Delhi. Voters’ names have been deleted. Now the leaders of the opposition alliance in Maharashtra say that the names of voters were also added and deleted before the voting. He also has proof of this. The issue of adding and deleting names of voters has arisen for the first time. It is being told that the petition will be filed in the Supreme Court by the parties of the opposition alliance by December 13.
Opposition leaders including Congress have been raising questions on EVMs since 2019. In every election in which BJP wins, there are allegations of tampering with EVMs. Even after BJP’s victory in Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections, questions are being raised on EVMs. Opposition leaders say that instead of EVMs, elections should be conducted using the old method i.e. ballot paper. Many petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court regarding conducting elections through ballot paper, but every time the court has rejected such petitions.
