India and Chile on Tuesday decided to start negotiations on mutually beneficial comprehensive economic participation agreement, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted Chile’s President Gabriel Boric Font for comprehensive talks focusing on promoting bilateral relations in diverse fields.
India is on a five -day state visit to discover ways to increase bilateral cooperation in many areas including Boric Trade and Defense. After the talks, Modi said in his media statement, “Today, we have instructed our teams to start a discussion on mutually beneficial comprehensive economic participation agreement.” He said that the possibility of partnership in the field of important minerals would be searched.
The Prime Minister said that work will also be done to establish a flexible supply and price chain. Describing Chile as an important partner of India in Latin America, Modi said that New Delhi sees this country as the entrance to Antarctica. He said that India is ready to share its positive experience with Chile in digital public infrastructure, renewable energy, Railways, space and other fields.
