New Delhi. The deal to buy Rafale Marine fighter aircraft between India and France has been finalized. India will buy 26 Rafale M aircraft from France under this defense deal of more than 63 thousand crore rupees. India’s Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Navy Deputy Chief Vice Admiral K.K. Swaminathan signed the file, finalizing the deal with French officials. India has carried out the deal to increase the strength of its Navy amidst the ongoing tension with Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack.

Under this defense deal with France, India will get 22 single-seater and 4 twin-seater aircraft. The aircraft will be deployed on aircraft carriers like Navy’s INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya. According to media reports, delivery of aircraft is expected to start by the end of 2029. Earlier in 2016, India had signed a deal to buy 36 Rafale fighter jets from France for its Air Force. The deal was done between India and France for 59 thousand crores. Now after this new deal, the number of Rafale fighter jets in the Indian Army fleet will increase to 62.

On the other hand, India’s defense expert Commodore (retired) Ranjit B. Rai said that today it is an important day for the Indian Navy. The Rs 63,000 crore agreement has been signed for 26 Rafale Maritime Jet between the Defense Secretary RK Singh and the French Ambassador to India. It is one of the leading aircraft capable of landing and flying on the aircraft carrier, whose deck is tilted upwards. These are fighter jets equipped with state -of -the -art facilities of a very excellent system. The Rafale fighter aircraft can go up to a speed of about two times than the speed of sound. It also has the facility of fuel in the air itself.
