Doomsday ballistic missile
New Delhi: India is now developing hypersonic missiles. An official said that the army is going to include more long-range rockets, cruise and ballistic missiles in its fleet. These include Nirbhay missiles with ranges of 400 km and 2,000 km and ballistic missiles like Pralay.
Long range missiles and rockets will be included in the army
Director General of the Indian Army’s Artillery Regiment, Lieutenant General A Kumar, said that the Army is also focusing on long-range rockets and in the future, the range of indigenous Pinaka rockets is being considered to be increased to 300 km. The official said that the Indian Army has received approval from the Defense Acquisition Council to acquire Pralay ballistic missile and Nirbhay missile.
DRDO is developing hypersonic missiles
Giving information about the missile program in a press conference, he said that the work of developing hypersonic missiles is going on by DRDO. To boost precision strike capability, we are purchasing Loiter Munitions, Swarm Drones, Runway Independent RPAS and similar things, Lt Gen Kumar said. He said that we are also emphasizing on strengthening intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft.
Infrastructure is being modernized
He said that we have taken several steps to modernize our training and administrative infrastructure. Due emphasis is being given to training on technology equipment to include Runway Independent RPAS, Loiter Munitions and Swarm Drones. So far, a total of 19 women officers have been commissioned in the Artillery Regiment. He said that all these women officers have been deployed in units with different equipment profiles and terrain conditions. We have full confidence in her abilities and are confident that she will excel in her service career.
