Due to tension between India and Pakistan, many flights have either been canceled or pre-pone/postpone. Common passengers are suffering the brunt of this situation directly, especially those who are struggling for refunds.
Now the question is that when the flight cancell airline itself is doing, then why are heavy cancellation charges being charged from the passengers? People are constantly raising the same question on social media.
🧾 10,000 tickets, only 2,050 back!
A passenger reported that he had booked tickets from Indigo Airlines to go from Chandigarh to Mumbai, which cost more than ₹ 10,000. But when the flight was canceled, the company deducted the ₹ 8,111 cancellation charge and returned only ₹ 2,050!
The passenger wrote on social media,

In another case, Karanjen Mohanlal said that he had booked a flight to Srinagar on 16 May. He took Akasa Air ticket from platforms like Goibibo.
Later when the flight was canceled:
The airline said that they would get refund as per the rules.
The website (Booking Agency) refused to pay.
The passenger has to play ping-pong between the two, but the refund has not been found yet.

Vishwar Aggarwal said that his flight from Patna to Chandigarh was canceled. He had taken tickets from IndiGo, but still more than ₹ 8,000 was deducted in the name of cancellation charge.

❗ Passengers accuses – It is wrong to take more charge
Renu Jain canceled his trip in view of the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir. The airline said that ₹ 1590 (₹ 795 × 2 tickets) have been cut.
She writes,

Indigo has said:
“After complaints, we have started refund processing all our customers. Those who have taken from ticket agents or booking sites should go to them and get information.”
