New Delhi: The Government of India has closed its aircraft for Pakistani aircraft till 23 June. Earlier, the government issued a notam till May 23, 2025 amidst increasing tension from Pakistan. The Ministry of Civil Aviation said that Pakistani passenger aircraft and military aircraft would not be able to enter the Indian airspace.
India closed its airspace for the Pakistani airline as part of retaliation in view of the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April. 26 people were killed in the Pahalgam terror attack. India then attacked terrorist bases under Operation Sindoor. Later, Pakistan’s military bases were also attacked.
Pakistan also released Notam till 24 June
Earlier, according to the new NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) issued by Pakistan Airport Authority, Pakistan on Friday shut down its airspace for Indian flights till 24 June. The Pakistan Airport Authority said that the ban on Indian aircraft flying in Pakistan airspace has been extended to 4:59 am on June 24, 2025. The PAA’s statement said that all the aircraft registered, operated, owned or leased in India will remain under the ban.
The statement said that this ban will also apply to Indian military aircraft. Any flight run by Indian airlines or operators will not be allowed to use Pakistani airspace.
Pakistan did this embarrassing act on Wednesday
Let us know that the Indigo aircraft had to face hailstorm on Wednesday. Pilot sought permission from Lahore Air Traffic Control to briefly use the airspace from Pakistan, rejecting the request. The aircraft carrying more than 220 people, including Trinamool Congress MPs, had to face sudden hailstorm. Due to this, the front of the aircraft was also damaged.
