India on Wednesday launched a major military operation ‘Operation Sindoor’ and launched accurate attacks on the terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK). The Ministry of Defense said that the attack was targeted only by targeting the infrastructure of terrorists and no Pakistani military hideout was attacked.
🎯 Target on nine bases
The Ministry of Defense said on X (East Twitter) that “these attacks targeted nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and POK, which were engaged in the plan of cross -border terror.”
🔥 Heavy shells from Pakistan
In retaliation, the Pakistani Army fired heavy mortar on the villages located on the Line of Control (LOC) in Poonch and Rajouri districts. According to sources, heavy firing has been reported from Krishna Valley, Shahpur and Mankot, and Lam, Manjakote and Gambir Brahmin areas in Poonch.
✈️ Air services affected
Professional flights have been temporarily suspended due to security reasons in many parts of North India. High level vigilance is being taken over airspace.
🛡️ Civil security review
Home Secretary Govind Mohan reviewed the preparations for civil defense on Tuesday (May 6), which insisted on intensifying activities like Air Red Siren mock drill, self-protection training to common citizens, and cleaning of bunkers and trenches.
🌐 United Nations response
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) met in a closed room for Indo-Pak tension, in which the member countries appealed to reduce stress and communicate. However, no official statement came after the meeting, but Pakistan claimed that its objectives were “fully fulfilled”.
