India -UAE Agreement for cooperation in customs sector

India and UAE have signed an important agreement between the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs and the Central Board of Indirect Tax and Customs (CBIC) of India, which aims to fully digitize customs processes. This initiative will give a clear increase in both Cargo Movement and Customs Clearance, expecting to improve trade ease, speed and transparency.

The main things of the agreement:

Digitization of custom processes: transferring the documentary process to digital form.

Customs Workshop of both countries: This will shared technical knowledge and experience.

Rapid movement of goods: The traditional manual process will switch to a digitally platform.

Adding the custom system of both countries through the Maitri platform.

DG Shri Rashed Al Manasuri of Abu Dhabi Customs and Smt. Arti Agarwal Srinivas, System and Data Director of India, discussed in detail the cooperation during the Warkshop. This initiative will further strengthen the CEPA and bilateral traders running under both countries.
