25th October 2024 brought a proud moment for India when Rachel Gupta from Jalandhar, Punjab created history by winning the prestigious Miss Grand International 2024 title held in Thailand. Thus, for the first time this title has gone to India. Rachel Gupta’s name will always be remembered as the first Indian to win Miss Grand International. Miss Grand International 2023 winner Luciana Fuster of Peru presented Rachel with the victory crown. Four runners-up were also announced in the pageant—Christine Juliane Opiaza of the Philippines (1st runner-up), Thae Su Nyein of Myanmar (2nd runner-up), Safietu Kabengele of France (3rd runner-up) and Talita Hartmann of Brazil (4th runner-up).
