Rescue of injured soldier

The Indian Army has once again done a great job in bringing back Indian citizens safely amid the Russia-Ukraine war. During the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, the Indian Army has safely evacuated an injured soldier. An Indian Army team led by a doctor rescued an injured Indian Army soldier from UNDOF Golan Heights using a C 130 air ambulance. This operation was led by Lieutenant Colonel Anuj Singh. He was also accompanied by two trained paramedics.

Critical Care Air Evacuation Medical team reached the base hospital of Delhi Cantt with the injured soldier. While bringing the injured jawan to Delhi, necessary medical aid was given on the way and his treatment had started on the way itself.

Many agencies completed the mission

The Indian Air Force, Ministry of External Affairs and other agencies together accomplished this mission. The rescue operation not only ensured that the injured soldier was brought to India under extremely difficult conditions, but also provided state-of-the-art critical care support en route. Havildar Suresh R, 33, was transferred to the Level 1 hospital in the CZ (on the Israeli side) on September 20. The injured jawan was not aware of the time/place/person and seemed deranged. Her medical history included a 30-day admission to Rambam Hospital, Haifa, Israel, from August 22 to September 20.

How is your condition now?

The jawan suffered head injury, unspecified stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, diffuse axonal injury and hemiparesis. Currently his vitals are stable and maintaining 98% saturation, GCS 10/15 on room air, while his body movements are brisk and spontaneous. The air ambulance left Tel Aviv at 01.20 hrs (IST) with the patient and reached Jamnagar at 10 hrs (IST). He was further taken to Palam New Delhi and reached Delhi at around 2 pm on 26 September 2024. He was later shifted to Army Hospital R&R, New Delhi at 3 pm via ambulance.
