The difficulties of Indian -origin nurse Nimisha Dear are increasing. Now the government has also almost raised his hand in this matter. Nimisha is sentenced to death in Yemen. He is accused of killing a Yemeni citizen. The Government of India has stated in the Supreme Court that “given the sensitivity of Yemen, the government cannot do much in this matter, because India has no special diplomatic relationship with Yemen.” This report has been given by Live Law.
A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking intervention in the Nimisha case. The government put its side in this matter, although the government says that it is making every effort to save Nimisha through private channels. The government said: “We are doing what we can do, but we can also try to an extent. Yemen is not like other parts of the world. Do not want to make this matter even more complicated by public rhetoric. We are taking all steps at the private level.”
The petitioner has demanded the government in the matter to allegedly talk to the victim’s family in Yemen. Nimisha’s family is willing to pay around Rs 8.5 crore to the Yamani victim’s family as ‘blood money’. This is a kind of compensation according to Yemen’s law. If the victim’s family accepts it, the death sentence may be postponed.
However, the government has said that ‘Blood Money’ is a case of a private conversation. The government cannot interfere much in this. However, some sheikhs and influential persons are being interacted.
Please tell that Nimisha is originally from Palakkad district of Kerala. He is currently in Yemen jail. This gel is under the control of Iran -backed Hurti rebels, which India does not recognize. Nimisha went to Yemen in 2011. Later, her husband and son came back to India, but she stayed there and opened a clinic with a Yemeni citizen, Abdo Mehndi. Nimisha alleges that Mehndi had physically abused her. Nimisha has accused him of attacking him from above.
