Jaipur: To prevent increasing train accidents across the country, Indian Railways has formed Rail Rakshak Dal for the first time. As part of a pilot project, Indian Railways has started this initiative in North Western Railway (NWR) area. Rail Rakshak Dal is capable of reaching the accident site immediately and carrying out rescue operations. North Western Railway IG RPF Jyoti Kumar Satija said that it is a proud moment for us that our Railway Minister has taken this initiative for quick response in rescue during any accident.
The team has been given special training
Jyoti Kumar Satija said that the Railway Minister has given this responsibility to the North Western Railway and the RPF and mechanical team have been given 4 weeks of special training. Our team Rail Raksha Dal will reach the accident site in the shortest possible time. This is a very historic initiative. He said that Indian Railways has set up ‘Rail Raksha Dal’ team and equipment at Gandhinagar Railway Station.
Five RPF teams and one mechanical team will be involved
The Rail Rakshak Dal comprises four units, which include five RPF teams and one mechanical team. This team has been given special training to deal with train accidents. The most important thing is that as soon as information about a train accident is received, this team will immediately leave for the spot.
Strict action will be taken against those who derail the train
At the same time, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that I want to clearly tell those who are trying to derail that they should not try to politicize the railways. Strict action will be taken against them with the cooperation of the state police and NIA.
Ashwini Vaishnav said that under Kavach 4.O, the loco pilot can see the signal 10 kilometers away in his cab itself. If the train is approaching a red signal and the driver is not paying attention, Kavach will automatically apply the brakes. Kavach has been developed to suit rain, hilly areas, coastal areas. In the next 5-6 years, the entire network will be covered with Kavach.
