International Yoga Day: President Draupadi Murmu celebrated 11th International Yoga Day in Dehradun

President Draupadi Murmu on Saturday attended the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations in Dehradun, Uttarakhand along with Governor Gurmeet Singh.

This program held in Police Lines, Dehradun is part of the nationwide festival of yoga on International Yoga Day, the theme of which is ‘Yoga for Earth, Yoga for A Health.’ The 11th Annual Yoga Day celebrations saw widespread participation from states across the country.

During his visit, on 20 June, President Murmu inaugurated President Niketan for the general public and also visited the National System Disabled Empowerment Institute, where he saw an exhibition and model school science laboratory and interacted with the students. On the same day, he also released a postage stamp on the completion of 125 years of Raj Bhavan, Nainital.

Earlier today, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Visakhapatnam the nationwide Yoga Day celebrations, he urged the international community to adopt “internal peace” as “global policy” and make yoga a collective global responsibility.

The Prime Minister said, “I would like to urge the global community on this important occasion to celebrate this International Yoga Day as the beginning of yoga for humanity.
