The accident killed 241 out of 242 people aboard the aircraft, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members. The only living person, British citizen of Indian origin Vishwaskumar Ramesh, is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries.

After the accident, at least 33 people, including residents and MBBS students living on the ground, also died due to the doctors of the aircraft colliding with the hostel.
