DRI has arrested the daughter of senior IPS officer of Karnataka cadre and Kannada film actress. It is alleged that the actress was smuggling more than 14 kg of gold with her. More than 14 kg of gold recovered
According to the information, Ranya Rao along with her husband along with her husband is arrested late Monday evening from Bangalore International Airport. It is alleged that she was trying to smuggle 14.8 kg gold with her husband. Both left for Bangalore International Airport from Delhi Airport. She and her husband have been sent to judicial custody by 18 March. Ranya Rao’s father is a senior IPS officer in Karnataka.

DRI investigating

The DRI found in the investigation that she had gone to Dubai four times in the last 15 days, after which she started monitoring her activities. Based on this intelligence, the agency caught both of them on reaching Bangalore.
