Mohammad Islami, head of Iran’s nuclear power organization, announced on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 that Iran’s nuclear program would continue uninterrupted despite the damage caused by recent attacks by the US and Israel. Islamic said, “Our atomic program is for peaceful purposes and no one can stop it. Reconstruction plans are ready.” The statement came after the military attacks started by Israel on June 13 and the attacks by the US on the Fordo, Natanj and Isfahan nuclear bases from the B-2 stealth bombers.
Israel claimed that it “destroyed” Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities to a great extent, while US President Donald Trump termed these attacks as “superb military success”. However, satellite imagery suggests that Fordo suffered partial damage, and Iran claimed that it had shifted its uranium reserves to a safe place before the attacks.
In retaliation, Iran fired missiles on the US military base al-uddar in Qatar on 23 June and An al-Assad in Iraq, which Trump described as a “weak response”. Iranian External Affairs Minister Abbas Arakchi said, “As long as the Israeli attack will continue, diplomacy is not possible.”
The United Nations Atomic Monitoring Institution (IAEA) chief Rafael Gersi warned that the attacks could pose a threat of nuclear disaster in the Middle East. Russia and China condemned these attacks, while European countries appealed for de-skeleton. Oil prices fell 7% to $ 68.76 per barrel, which shows the stability of global supply despite the war.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said, “We will not bow down to threats.” Arakachi’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow failed to make ceasefire attempts from Qatar’s mediation, as Israel made more attacks in Tehran. This war can further destroy the Middle East.
