Chief Minister Siddaramaiah
Bengaluru: There has been a lot of controversy in Karnataka on the issue of reservation in Karnataka. Now the BJP on Wednesday alleged that the Congress government is preparing to carry forward the issue again. The BJP said that the ruling Congress in Karnataka is planning 4% reservation for Muslims in government contracts (public tenders). BY Vijayendra, president of Karnataka BJP unit, claimed that when all development works have stopped across the state, the ruling Congress in the state has decided to present a proposal to give 4 percent reservation to minorities in government contracts before the cabinet.
‘Does minority mean only Muslims?’
He questioned why minorities are always referred to as Muslims despite having many other communities in the country. Vijayendra said, “Does minorities mean only Muslims, no one else?” The policies of minority appeasement of the Congress will create unrest in the society. ”He said that if Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is really the leader of backward communities, as they are trying to present themselves, they should bring policies to empower them. Vijayendra appealed to the people to teach Siddaramaiah a lesson for their minority appeasement policy.
‘Congress focusing on minority appeasement’
Vijaypura MLA Basangauda Patil Yatanal said that the Congress government in Karnataka is fully focusing on minority appeasement, such a reservation is anti -constitution. He claimed that BR Ambedkar, the creator of the Indian Constitution, was against the Minority Welfare Department. Yatanal alleged, “The government is going against the Constitution and its basic principles.” BJP leaders said they would raise the issue in the current session of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
