Kolkata. Considering the current situation in Bangladesh, ISKCON has given special instructions to its priests and saints. ISKCON’s Kolkata center spokesperson Radharaman Das told the media that the priests and saints of the Bangladesh-based organization have been asked not to wear saffron clothes in public. Besides, they have also been advised to apply Tilak and perform puja without any noise. Radharaman Das described the situation in Bangladesh as worrying. He said that whatever devotees and saints are calling us, we are telling them not to make their identity public.
Radharaman Das said that ISKCON devotees, priests and saints have been asked to practice religion in homes or temples only. They have been asked to wear such clothes that other people do not pay much attention to them. Radharaman Das said that at present such temporary measures have been taken to maintain security. He did not call this a general guideline and said that he was asking them to do this as a personal suggestion to protect themselves. Radharaman Das mentioned violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. He said that many of our devotees and families have been threatened. Radharaman Das urged the Bangladesh government to provide adequate security to the lawyers of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari.
