The Supreme Court reversed the order of the Karnataka High Court and ruled that ISKCON Bangalore will have the right to the Hare Krishna Hill temple in Bengaluru. Earlier, the Karnataka High Court gave ISKCON Mumbai to owe the Hare Krishna Hill Temple. Supreme Court Justice A. S. The bench of Oka and Justice Augustin George Christ reserved the verdict in the matter on 24 July last year.
The Karnataka High Court gave its verdict in the matter in May 2011. The decision of the Karnataka High Court was challenged by ISKCON Bangalore in the Supreme Court in June 2011. This is the second time the lower court’s decision in this case has been overturned. The lower court of Bangalore first gave a decision in favor of Bangalore ISKCON in this case in 2009. ISKCON Mumbai then challenged the lower court’s decision, knocking on the doors of the High Court. The Karnataka High Court canceling the lower court’s verdict and controlled the temple to ISKCON Mumbai. Then ISKCON Bangalore filed an application in the Supreme Court. In this way, the apex court has given its verdict today in the nearly 16 -year -old case.
The matter was in a lot of discussion due to the dispute over the ownership of the temple between the same institution. Actually, ISKCON Mumbai said that ISKCON Bangalore is a branch of it. For this reason, ISKCON Mumbai has the authority over all temples and property associated with ISKCON Bengaluru. In contrast, ISKCON Bangalore claimed that she is handling the management of the temple of Bangalore, working for a long time, so she also has the right to him.
