Islampur to be renamed as Ishwarpur: Islampur accepted the proposal now to the name of Islampur, Islampur will now be renamed as Ishwarpur, Maharashtra government has accepted the proposal

New Delhi. The Mahayuti government of Maharashtra has accepted the proposal to change the name of Islampur in Sangli district to Ishwarpur. On the last day of the monsoon session in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Minister Chhagan Bhujbal gave this information today. He said that this proposal will now be sent to the Central Government, which will take a final decision on changing the name. Bhujbal said that this proposal would be considered completely accepted only after the approval of the central government. The Hinduist organization Shiv Pratishthan wrote a letter to the collector of Sangli in this regard and demanded the change of Islampur.

The supporters of the chief of the Shiva Pratishthan, Sanaji Bhide, had for a long time demanding the name of Islampur to be named Ishwarpur. He had said that they will not sit calm until Islampur is done by Ishwarpur. At the same time, a Shiv Sena leader of the region said that the demand for the name of Islampur to be named Ishwarpur was pending since 1986. On the other hand, on renaming the name of Islampur to Ishwarpur, Samajwadi Party MLA Rais Sheikh said that the situation does not change due to changing the name. The city whose names are changing should be developed.

On the other hand, Congress MLA Amin Patel said that this government is constantly trying to mislead people by changing names instead of focusing on real issues like employment, education and healthcare. Let us tell you that the Maharashtra government has changed the name of two cities before this. The government has changed the name of Aurangabad to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Chhatrapati Sambhaji was the elder son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He chewed Nako gram while taking iron from the Mughals. Later, due to the betrayal of some loved ones, Mughal emperor Aurangzeb took him captive and killed him.
