New Delhi. In the nearly 17 -year -old Jaipur serial blast case, the special court today announced the sentence of life imprisonment to 4 convicts. On 13 May 2008, there were 8 serial bomb blasts at different places in Jaipur. While a bomb was defused in time. The court has ruled in 600 pages and sentenced Sarwar Azmi, Sarwar Azmi, Mohammad Saif and Saifurrahman. 71 people were killed in the bomb blasts at Jaipur’s Johri Bazaar, Sanganeri Gate, Manak Chowk Khanda, Chandpol Gate, Badi Chaupar, Chhoti Chaupar and Tripolia Gate, while around 180 people were injured.

The terrorists planted another bomb in the Chandpol market, but the bomb was defused by the bomb disposal squad before the blast. In this case, these accused have been sentenced to death earlier. The convicts challenged the sentence in the High Court after which the High Court acquitted everyone in March 2023. Now the special court has sentenced four convicts to life imprisonment. These serial blasts were taken responsibility by the terrorist organization Indian Mujahideen. The terrorists used bicycles for the blast.
According to the ATS, the terrorists bought 9 bicycles in Jaipur and set a timer by putting bombs in these bicycles and took the bicycles to the blast places. Within 15 minutes 8 bombs were blasted, but a bomb that was planted near a guest house in Chandpol Bazaar, its timing was done one and a half hours later. The police and ATS, showing promptness, discovered the bomb in time and defused it. A separate hearing was held in the court in the case of a live bomb found in Chandpol. On 4 April 2025, a special court of Jaipur convicted four accused and sentenced today.
