Jaishankar called US Foreign Minister Marco Rubio and talked. Jaishankar and Rubies also interacted about the bilateral trade agreement between India and the US. Apart from this, the situation in the Indo-Pacific region was also discussed between the foreign ministers of India and the US.
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar posted social media on X and told that in a conversation with Marco Rubio, he and the US Foreign Minister discussed the need to fulfill the bilateral trade agreement soon. In talks between foreign ministers of India and the US, it was agreed that the trade agreement should be finalized soon. Jaishankar has said that it is expected that India and the US will move forward early towards bilateral trade agreement. He said that he will remain in touch with US Foreign Minister Marco Rubio. Marco Rubio and Jaishankar also emphasized cooperation and coordination in different areas to strengthen the relationship.
Talking about the reciperook tariff, Trump says that India takes average 52 percent tariff on goods imported from America. At the same time, India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal went to America and met the officers of the Commerce Department there only after the trump was asked to put a tariff. Recently, there has been a conversation with the US delegation in Delhi. India and the United States have also appointed their representatives to negotiate to resolve the issue of tariffs. At the same time, America’s business representative Brandon Lynch has also visited India. Negotiations are being held between India and the US to decide the terms of the trade agreement. Also, the Ministry of Commerce is also looking for new markets for India’s things in other countries.
