Pune. The long standoff between India and China that has been going on since 2020 seemed likely to end when the two countries reached an agreement to resume patrolling in eastern Ladakh. Now Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar has said that removal of Indian and Chinese troops is the first step and India has been successful in reaching that level. He said that anything could have happened on LAC. Jaishankar said at an event in Pune on Saturday that everything has not been resolved between India and China and now we will be able to consider the next step. He also gave credit to the army for the agreement between India and China.
The Foreign Minister said that the Army was present on the LAC in very unimaginable circumstances to protect the country and it did its job. He said that diplomacy also did its job. Foreign Minister Jaishankar said that if we have reached here today, it is because we stuck to our point and tried very hard to keep it. S. Jaishankar said that after the agreement reached between India and China on October 21, there will be patrolling in Depsang and Demchok. The Foreign Minister said that it will take time for India and China to normalize relations, establish trust and work together.
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said that there was a serious conflict between the armies of the two countries in June 2020 and due to their deployment face to face on the LAC, there was a possibility of something happening at any time. He said that we were talking to China since September 2020. Foreign Minister Jaishankar said that patrolling on LAC was being stopped. India and China were talking on this issue in the last 2 years. The Foreign Minister said that when PM Narendra Modi spoke to Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan, Russia, it was decided that the foreign ministers and national security advisors of the two countries would meet and see how to move forward.
