The annual pilgrimage of Amarnath Temple is scheduled to begin on July 3, 2025. The security system in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is on high alert, especially on National Highway 44 (NH-44). LG Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir flagged off the first batch of pilgrims for Shri Amarnath Yatra from Jammu amid major security.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said, “Shri Amarnath ji Shrine Board has provided excellent facilities for the yatra. Jammu and Kashmir Police and Security Forces have also made strict security arrangements. Devotees from all over the country have come here. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the people. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the people. Devotees of Bholenath have reached here in large numbers. I hope that this year will be better.
Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai said, “According to the practices of the past, when the journey reaches Udhampur, we welcome him to the Kali Mata temple … We also organize a cultural program for him here … Security has been organized to provide comfortable experience to travelers.”
Devyani Rana of Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha said, “We are lucky that we have got the opportunity to give a green signal to the pilgrims for the Amarnath Yatra. We are always ready to serve the pilgrims participating in the yatra. I am ready for a visit to Jammu and Kashmir and I assure all the pilgrims that we will make every effort to make their journey successful.
After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in April 2025, the security system has been greatly increased in the entire Jammu region for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. More than 50,000 personnel including CRPF, army and police have been deployed, as well as continuous monitoring through CCTV, drone, jammer and facial identification techniques on the route.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of Amarnath Yatra. Proper arrangements have been made for medical teams, air ambulances and emergency withdrawal schemes to ensure maximum security during the pilgrimage. The journey of this year is scheduled from July 3, 2025 to August 9, 2025.
