Srinagar. Voting is being held today for 26 assembly seats in the second phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. In this phase, many big names including National Conference’s Omar Abdullah and BJP’s state president Ravinder Raina are trying their luck. 239 candidates are in the fray for these 26 seats of Jammu and Kashmir assembly. More than 25 lakh voters will vote to elect their MLA. 3502 polling booths have been set up for the second phase of voting. In the second phase, voting is being held in 3 districts of Jammu and 3 districts of Kashmir. Ravinder Raina is the BJP candidate from Nowshera seat. He visited Thakurdwara temple and paid obeisance before voting began. After this, he went to polling booth number 90 in Nowshera and cast his vote.

The youth also seem very excited to cast their vote in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. The elderly were also seen reaching the polling stations and casting their votes.

PM Narendra Modi has urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to vote in large numbers.

In the first phase of polling in Jammu and Kashmir, except for a few seats, bumper voting was seen everywhere. Long queues of voters were seen here. It is expected that there will be heavy voting in Jammu and Kashmir in the second phase as well. Queues of voters were seen at many places since morning. The Election Commission has made a lot of arrangements for the convenience and security of the voters. Especially in the Kashmir valley, wherever voting is taking place, it has been made like a cantonment by the security forces. This is the reason why no incident of violence took place in Jammu and Kashmir during the first phase of polling. The first 3 voters who reached a polling station in Ganderbal planted saplings.

Elections are being held here for the first time after the repeal of Article 370 of the Constitution related to Jammu and Kashmir. Article 370 was repealed by the Modi government by bringing a proposal in Parliament in the year 2019. After this, the people living here have started getting the benefits of many more central laws and schemes. It is hoped that the coming time will bring more prosperity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The results of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections are to be announced on October 8. This time the National Conference and Congress are contesting the elections together. At the same time, other parties including PDP and BJP are also in the fray.
