Jhansi. Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak has ordered an investigation into the death of 10 children due to a fire that broke out on Friday night in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Jhansi Medical College, UP. It was only after the incident that Brajesh Pathak left for Jhansi along with Health Secretary Parthasarathy Sen Sharma. Brajesh Pathak reached Jhansi on Saturday morning and went to the Medical College and got information about the incident there. He also talked about giving compensation to the families of those who lost their lives and the burnt children in the fire. Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, who looks after the health department, told the media that there will be a thorough investigation in this matter and no culprit will be spared.

Brajesh Pathak told that a fire safety audit was conducted in Jhansi Medical College in February this year and a mock drill was also conducted in June. He said that there will be 3 separate investigations. This investigation will be done by the Health Department, Police, Fire Brigade and Magistrate. According to the information, a sudden fire broke out in the NICU of Jhansi Medical College at around 10.40 pm on Friday night. The fire spread rapidly. Most of the children were on oxygen support.
