JPC meeting on Waqf Bill created ruckus
There has been a lot of uproar in the meeting of JPC i.e. Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Waqf Bill today. In fact, there was an argument between the two sides in the JPC meeting, after which many opposition MPs have been suspended for one day. These MPs have Kalyan Banerjee of TMC, Nadeem ul Haq of TMC, Asaduddin Owaisi of AIMIM, Mobillah of Samajwadi Party, Nasir Hussain of Congress, Imran Masood of Congress, Mohammad Javed, Shiv Sena UBT’s Arvind Sawant, DMK’s A Raja and Abdullah Are included. Explain that these MPs have been suspended not from the committee but only from today’s meeting.

Waqf Amendment Bill reached the final stage
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla gave the committee expanded by the last day of the upcoming budget session. The budget session will run from 31 January to 4 April. However, there will be a few days off in the middle. Members can now propose their amendments in the draft law and will be voted on them. Opposition MPs, who are strongly opposing the bill, can propose amendment. However, they are unlikely to be accepted as the BJP and its allies are in majority in the committee. Official sources said that the draft report will be prepared on the basis of section-by-block consideration and shared with the Legislative Department.
