Kolkata. Junior doctors of West Bengal have now launched a fast unto death against the Mamata Banerjee government. Junior doctors started a fast unto death in the Esplanade area of ​​Kolkata from Saturday night. Six of the junior doctors have started a fast unto death. Junior doctors say that they will continue the fast unto death until Mamata Banerjee’s West Bengal government accepts their demands.

Junior doctors say that since August 9, we have been protesting regarding our demands. Shayantani Ghosh Hazra, one of the agitating junior doctors, said that we always kept protesting for justice. So that the way the doctor was raped and murdered in RG Kar Medical College, the same incident does not happen again. According to the junior doctors who decided to fast unto death, they had given a 24-hour ultimatum to the Mamata Banerjee government, but nothing happened. He alleged that Kolkata Police kicked junior doctors and maintained silence on this too. Junior doctors made it clear that their fight is not against the public but to achieve justice. Earlier, junior doctors had withdrawn their indefinite strike.

The doctor was raped and murdered in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College on the intervening night of August 8 and 9. After this, junior doctors went on strike, starting a movement and demanding security. CM Mamata Banerjee had assured the junior doctors in the conversation that there would be strong arrangements for their security. After this, the junior doctors called off their 46-day-old strike. After this, an incident of beating of doctors and nurses also took place in Sagar Ghosh Medical College, Kolkata. After which now the doctors have decided to fast unto death.
