After a long hearing of nearly three years, Uttarakhand’s daughter Ankita Bhandari finally got justice. In this famous murder case, the court, while giving its verdict, convicted the three criminals and sentenced them to life imprisonment. The three accused were found guilty under 302, 354, 120 sections. The ADJ Court in Kotdwara sentenced the three accused to life imprisonment. Along with this, the court has also imposed a fine of 50-50 thousand rupees.
The ADJ court of Kotdwar convicted the three accused in the Ankita Bhandari murder case and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The court has sentenced the three accused Pulkit Arya, Saurabh Bhaskar and Ankit Gupta to IPS Section 302 (murder), 201 (destroying evidence), 120B (conspiracy), 354A and convicted under the Prevention of Trade Prevention Act and sentenced them to life imprisonment.
Please tell that on 18 September, 2022, receptionist Ankita Bhandari was killed at Vanantra Resort and threw her body in Chila’s Shakti canal. Ankita’s body was recovered from the Chila Canal, a week after the incident.
Before the court’s decision, Ankita’s father said, “I hope his daughter will get justice.” Ankita’s father said that I will demand from the court that they should be punished. Just before the verdict, he said that he had killed my daughter. In this case, the people of Uttarakhand have given him with him, for that he greeted everyone with folded hands.
Ankita’s mother had said that she is confident in the court that her daughter will get justice. There was a lot of anger in the whole country with the murder of Ankita Bhandari. Ankita Bhandari, 22, of Yamkeshwar block in Pauri district, was murdered on 18 September 2022. Ankita Bhandari used to work as a receptionist at the Vanatra Resort in Yamkeshwar block itself. Ankita Bhandari went missing on 18 September 2022 from Vanatra Resort in Yamkeshwar. Six days later, on 24 September, SDRF recovered the body of Ankita Bhandari from the canal at Cheela Power House Intake. In this case, Pulkit Arya, Saurabh Bhaskar and Ankit Gupta were arrested and sent to jail. Pulkit was made the main accused. The SIT team was formed under the leadership of DIG (Law and Order) P. Renuka Devi regarding the disclosure of the case.
After the SIT investigation, a 500-page charge sheet was filed in the court on behalf of the prosecution. The prosecution’s testimony began from 28 March 2023 after the accused were framed on the three killers resort owner Pulkit Arya, his employees Saurabh Bhaskar and Ankit Gupta. The first hearing of the case was held on 30 January 2023 in the ADJ Court in Kotdwar. In the hearing lasted for about two years and eight months, 47 witnesses, including the investigating officer, were produced by the prosecution in the court, after which the court’s decision came.
However, the SIT had made 97 witnesses in the case, out of which only 47 important witnesses were produced in the court. On May 19, the prosecution advocate Special Public Prosecutor Avnish Negi ended the hearing on behalf of the defense debate.
