New Delhi. The latest information about impeachment on Justice Yashwant Verma in the case of a large number of cash burning in the store room of Delhi’s government residence has come. According to government sources, after July 29, a impeachment motion may come in Parliament against Justice Yashwant Verma. The Modi government is going to discuss Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha on 28 July in the Lok Sabha and on July 29 in the Rajya Sabha. PM Narendra Modi will intervene in both houses during the discussion. Whereas, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is going to respond to the discussion.
The notice of impeachment on Justice Yashwant Verma has come in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The notice given in the Lok Sabha to impeach Justice Yashwant Verma, besides the ruling NDA, also contains signs of opposition MPs. Whereas, the Rajya Sabha has a impeachment notice given by only 63 opposition MPs. The government is trying to withdraw the impeachment notice given by the opposition MPs in the Rajya Sabha and pass the proposal against Justice Yashwant Verma on the impeachment notice in the Lok Sabha. However, Justice Yashwant Verma will not step down from the post of judge only after the impeachment motion. For this a process has to be followed.
There is a system in the law related to investigation against the judges of 1968 that if the impeachment motion comes in Parliament on the High Court or Supreme Court, then a committee is formed to investigate malpractices. This committee provides for the CJI or any other judge of the Supreme Court, Chief Justice of a High Court and a famous legalist. If the impeachment motion on Justice Yashwant Verma passed in Parliament, then a committee will be formed. Which will submit its report to Parliament after investigation. If the inquiry committee gets evidence against Justice Yashwant Verma, then the President will be recommended to remove him from the post. After which Justice Verma can be removed from the post of judge. Justice Yashwant Verma has also moved the Supreme Court in the meantime. He has appealed to the Supreme Court to cancel the investigation report of the three -judge committee constituted earlier.
