New Delhi. A lot of cash was burnt in the store room of his residence in the capital living in the Delhi High Court of Justice Yashwant Verma. Sanjeev Khanna, who was CJI in this case, got an inquiry with a committee of 3 judges. The inquiry committee submitted its report on 6 May. The latest news is that the Supreme Court has refused to make the investigation report of the 3 judges committee related to the burning cash of Justice Yashwant. The Supreme Court has also refused to give a copy of the letter sent to the President and PM in the case of burning cash of Justice Yashwant Verma on behalf of CJI, Sanjeev Khanna.

According to the information, Amritpal Singh Khalsa had demanded the report of the investigation in the case of cash burning in the case of cash burning in the house of Justice Yashwant Verma in the office of the Central Public Information Officer of the Supreme Court. At the same time, Amritpal Singh Khalsa had also sought a copy of the letter sent to the President and PM on behalf of Sanjeev Khanna, who was CJI. The information officer of the Supreme Court rejected the application of Amritpal Singh Khalsa. The Information Officer cited the decision of Supreme Court vs Subhash Chandra Aggarwal for this. The information officer of the Supreme Court told Amritpal Singh Khalsa that an inquiry report related to Justice Yashwant Verma or a copy of the then CJI cannot be given in the light of this decision. He has also described the provisions of RTI Act as the basis of denying the application.

Earlier, a 2 -judge bench of the Supreme Court rejected the petition filed by 3 lawyers, demanding a police case against Justice Yashwant Verma. The bench of the Supreme Court had told the petitioners that no one has seen the investigation report of the committee of judges in the case of cash burning at the residence of Justice Yashwant Verma. In such a situation, order cannot be ordered to register a case. The Supreme Court bench had asked the petitioners to plead with the President and the PM. Justice Yashwant Verma’s residence in Delhi was on fire on the night of 14 March 2025. While extinguishing the fire, it was allegedly shown a lot of burnt cash. Whose video was made by policemen. Justice Yashwant Verma has expressed suspicion of conspiracy in this. Sanjeev Khanna, CJI, had asked Justice Yashwant Verma to resign or face impeachment after the investigation report came. Through sources, the media then told that Justice Yashwant Verma refused to resign.

Media people also received a burnt cash outside Justice Yashwant Verma’s residence in Delhi.
