According to media reports, CJI Sanjeev Khanna has sent the report of the judges committee to President Draupadi Murmu and PM Narendra Modi for not resigning from the post of Justice Yashwant Verma. If impeachment is also conducted on Justice Yashwant Verma, then it will have to wait for the next session of Parliament. Only after the commencement of Parliament session, a proposal for impeachment can be brought against Justice Yashwant Verma. Justice Yashwant Verma is currently in the Allahabad High Court. Justice Yashwant Verma was in the Delhi High Court on 14 March 2025 at the time of fire in the store room of the house. He went to Madhya Pradesh on the day of the incident. Justice Yashwant Verma had told the Delhi High Court Chief Justice DK Upadhyay, who conducted a preliminary investigation into the cash burning case, that there could be a conspiracy against him. Justice Yashwant Verma also said that there is no information about the cash being kept in the store room. He also said that after the fire was extinguished, when the family members and staff went to the store room, they did not show any cash there. At the same time, several days after the incident, media people found a burnt cash near Justice Yashwant Verma’s residence in Delhi.
