New Delhi. Justice Yashwant Verma of Allahabad High Court, surrounded in the case of burning cash in the store room of the house, has joined opposition MP and senior advocate Kapil Sibal. Standing with Justice Yashwant Verma, Kapil Sibal has accused the three judges committee and the government investigating the cash burning. Kapil Sibal said that transparency was not kept in the case of Justice Yashwant Verma. The opposition MP said that the judicial process was also not followed and the report was prepared without hearing Justice Yashwant Verma.
Kapil Sibal said that the committee’s committee did not even tell in the report how much cash was received at the residence of Justice Yashwant Verma. He questioned how to assume that cash was kept there with the approval of Justice Yashwant Verma? Kapil Sibal said that if the government wants to start the process of impeachment against Justice Verma, it should be done through Parliament. He alleged that direct intervention is being done instead. Kapil Sibal said that the store room in which the cash was received was in the area of Justice Yashwant Verma, but the Supreme Court took action without doing concrete investigation. He said that the inquiry committee of judges did not even give a chance to give a statement to Justice Yashwant Verma. It is against justice.
On 14 March 2025, there has been an allegation of burning cash in the fire in the store room of Justice Yashwant Verma’s residence in Delhi.
Advocate Kapil Sibal said that either the government is angry with justice Yashwant Verma or an attempt is being made to bring the National Judicial Appointment Commission i.e. NJAC again to pressurize the judiciary. Kapil Sibal said that the Rajya Sabha Secretariat is saying that my signature is not eating matching. They could not verify for six months. Isn’t this a double attitude? The opposition MP also mentioned the impeachment motion against Allahabad High Court Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav. He said that the investigation of impeachment motion against Justice Yadav has been pending for six months. Let us know that the residence of Justice Yashwant Verma has been accused of burning a large quantity of cash in a fire on 14 March 2025. After which he was transferred to Allahabad by the then CJI Sanjeev Khanna from Delhi High Court and formed an inquiry committee for judges.
