In the by-elections to be held on Karhal assembly of Mainpuri, which is considered to be the stronghold of Samajwadi Party and the traditional seat of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s family, BJP has made such a move that now a big challenge has come for SP. Actually, Akhilesh Yadav has fielded his nephew Tej Pratap from Karhal assembly seat. Whereas BJP has given ticket to Anujesh Yadav, son-in-law of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s family. In this way, BJP has made the elections interesting by fielding a candidate from his own family in front of Tej Pratap.
Anujesh Yadav has a close relationship with Akhilesh Yadav
Sandhya, daughter of Abhayram Yadav, brother of late Mulayam Singh Yadav, is married to Anujesh Yadav, who is contesting from Karhal on BJP ticket. SP MP from Azamgarh Dharmendra Yadav is Sandhya’s real brother and Anujesh Yadav is her brother-in-law. In this way, Anujesh Yadav also became the brother-in-law of SP President Akhilesh Yadav. Akhilesh Yadav’s cousin Sandhya Yadav has also been the District Panchayat President of Mainpuri. Sandhya and her husband Anujesh were expelled from SP due to anti-party activities. After this both of them joined BJP. Anujesh Yadav’s family has been in the Samajwadi Party since the beginning. Anujesh’s mother Urmila Yadav has been an MLA from Ghiror assembly seat of Mainpuri.

Let us tell you that Akhilesh Yadav himself was an MLA from Karhal Assembly. In the 2022 assembly elections, Akhilesh won the election by defeating BJP’s SP Singh Baghel. In the Lok Sabha elections held this year, Akhilesh became MP by contesting from Kannauj seat and resigned from Karhal seat, that is why assembly by-election is being held here. For SP, preserving the traditional seat it has won is a tough question. Whereas BJP has made a very careful move to break into the stronghold of Yadav family.
