New Delhi. The Congress government of Karnataka has once again announced additional reservation for them in the Government Residential Scheme, showing kindness on Muslims. The cabinet of Chief Minister M. Siddaramaiah has approved the increase in Muslim reservation quota to 15 percent in the housing scheme of the state government. The first 10 percent quota was reserved for the Muslim community, which has now been increased by 5 percent. This decision will benefit the Muslim population in various residential schemes running in rural and urban areas of the state. On the other hand, BJP has spoken of challenging this decision both political and legal. Earlier, the Karnataka government had announced reservation to Muslims in government contracts.
Regarding the decision to give 15 percent reservation to Muslims in residential schemes, the state deputy CM DK Shivkumar says that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the ratio of the population. According to the news of India TV, the deputy CM says that there are many residential schemes of the state government in which the houses are lying vacant, in such a situation, allotment of them is necessary because if this house remains empty then it will only harm it. At the same time, while surrounding the BJP, Shivkumar said that the opposition party has no other issue except to do Hindu Muslim politics.

On the other hand, Union Minister Pralad Joshi said, today the Karnataka government has decided to give 15 percent reservation for minorities in the housing scheme, which is absolutely wrong. We will challenge it both political and legal. Let us tell you that the Karnataka government approved the amendment in the Karnataka Public Procurement Act, 1999 in March this year. Under this, it was decided to give 4 percent reservation for Muslim contractors in government contracts. During the state budget in March itself, the government announced schemes worth about Rs 4700 crore for Muslims. In which the allocation of Rs. 6 thousand to the Imams of the mosque and an allocation of Rs 150 crore for the safety of Waqf properties was said.
