Wherever opposition parties, including Congress, lose to BJP in elections, they accuse them of tampering with EVMs. After BJP’s victory in Haryana Assembly elections, allegations were also made that BJP won in EVMs which had 90 percent battery. Now the statement of Karti Chidambaram, son of Congress MP and senior party leader P. Chidambaram, is like a befitting reply to those raising questions on EVMs. On the questions raised on EVMs, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram said that he has been contesting elections since 2004 and personally has not had any bad experience with EVMs. Karti Chidambaram also said that he has no evidence that any tampering or manipulation was done with EVMs.
The Congress MP said that if others are raising questions on EVMs, then only he can say about it. He said that he personally believes that EVMs are effective. Karti Chidambaram said that we win and lose elections only through EVMs. The Congress MP said that until someone proves with real scientific facts that EVMs were rigged, he will not change his view on this matter. Karti Chidambaram said that many people in Congress also have their own views about EVMs and only they can explain it clearly. Let us tell you that this time in the Maharashtra elections also, Uddhav Thackeray’s party MP Sanjay Raut and the husband of Swara Bhaskar, who is contesting the elections on NCP ticket, have alleged EVM tampering. Swara Bhaskar had also raised the issue of EVMs having 99 percent battery.

Whenever Congress and opposition parties raise the issue of EVM tampering, BJP says that if it had been so then there would have been no opposition governments in the country. At the same time, the Election Commission has said many times that it is not possible to tamper with EVMs. The Election Commission had once given an opportunity to the leaders of all the political parties to prove the irregularities in the EVMs. On the allegations about the battery being 99 percent, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has also said that the signatures of the agents of the candidates are also taken on the batteries of EVMs.
