New Delhi. Devotees will now get Prasad prepared in a different way in Kashi Vishwanath Dham located in Varanasi, the city of Baba Shiva. A new Prasadam system has been started by Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham Trust today from the day of Dussehra. Based on the procedures written in the scriptures, laddus are prepared by mixing rice flour with Belpatra offered to God. From now on, only these laddus prepared in the Pauranik method will be offered to Bholenath and these will be available in the Prasad. This decision has been taken by Kashi Vishwanath Trust after the Tirupati Temple Prasadam controversy of Andhra Pradesh.

Giving more information in this regard, Varanasi Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma said that today we are excited to announce a program on the occasion of Vijayadashami festival. From now onwards devotees will get Prasad made in Kashi Vishwanath temple itself. About eight to ten months ago, it was decided by the Kashi Vishwanath Trust to make Prasad based on the procedures mentioned in the scriptures, focusing on the above Shastrartha procedures for offering to Lord Shiva. After four to five months of study, research was conducted using various texts to identify the things that were offered to Shiva.

The commissioner said that after this research, we selected various ingredients, determined them and after preparing about forty to fifty types of different samples in the last three to four months, it has been decided to prepare this new offering. In this, these laddus are mainly made by mixing rice flour with the Bel leaves offered to God. Amul’s contribution will be taken in maintaining quality. Laddus will be made in a sattvik manner and the services of only people of Hindu religion will be taken to make the laddus.
