The State Investigation Agency (SIA), Kashmir on Sunday searched 20 places in South Kashmir in connection with an ongoing terrorist conspiracy case. The raid has been conducted at a time when monitoring of terrorist colleagues and overground workers (OGWs) allegedly working for Pakistan -based bosses has been increased.
According to police officials, technical surveillance has revealed that several sleeper cells in the area were directly communicating with terrorist operators across the border.
These cells were found to be spreading sensitive and strategic information related to Indian security forces and major establishments using encrypted messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal.
Officials said that the suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed were also involved in online radical publicity at the behest of commanders of banned terrorist organizations.
Officials believe that their actions are a threat to India’s sovereignty and national integrity and their purpose is to incite public chaos and communal hatred.
The raid was conducted under FIR No. 01/2025, which was registered by Police Station CI/SIA Kashmir under various sections of the illegal activity (prevention) Act including Section 13, 17, 18-B, 38 and 39.
During the operation, important objectionable materials were recovered, and several suspects were detained for questioning.
A senior agency official said that a preliminary investigation shows that a planned efforts are being made to carry out terrorist conspiracies and promote anti -India statements both online and offline.
The SIA said it is firm in its mission to protect national security and maintain public system. The agency insisted, “Strict action will continue against those involved in any kind of terrorist or separatist activity.”
Meanwhile, India has repeatedly rejected the intervention of any third party on the Jammu and Kashmir issue and clearly stated that the region is an integral part of India.
On Saturday, India also underestimated the role of America in the agreement to end enmity, saying that the DGMOs of the two countries have agreed.
