Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan Narrowly Escapes: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan's shawl on his shoulder catches fire, he narrowly escapes

New Delhi. Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan today escaped becoming a victim of a major accident. While attending a program organized at Sabari Ashram in Palakkad, Arif Mohammad Khan’s shawl caught fire due to the lamps burning in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait. The person standing next to the Governor saw the fire and the people present there immediately extinguished the fire. It is fortunate that Arif Mohammad Khan did not suffer any harm in this incident.

After this incident, the people present there remained stunned for some time but the Governor said that there is no need to worry, I am completely fine. After this the Governor remained present there during the entire program. Actually, the centenary celebrations of Sabari Ashram located in Palakkad was to conclude today. The Governor was invited as the chief guest for the closing ceremony. When Governor Arif Mohammad Khan arrived to attend the program, the first thing he did was offer floral tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. As Governor Arif Mohammad Khan bent a little to offer flowers to Bapu’s portrait, the shawl lying on his shoulder touched the water lamps there and caught fire.

As soon as a person standing near the Governor saw the fire in his shawl, he immediately pulled the shawl off the Governor’s shoulder and dropped it. After this, other people present there extinguished the fire in the shawl. If the fire in the shawl had spread to the Governor’s clothes, a major disaster could have occurred. But thankfully the fire of the shawl did not engulf the clothes nor did any part of Governor Arif Mohammad Khan’s body get harmed by the fire.
