New Delhi. India has clearly rejected China’s monopoly on the Dalai Lama’s successor. Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju in the Modi government said that the Dalai Lama’s successor will be elected with the established traditions and the will of the Dalai Lama itself. Kiren Rijiju clearly said that the successor of the Dalai Lama does not have any other authority in the election. When asked by the media, Kiren Rijiju said that the Dalai Lama is the largest and defined organization of Buddhists. The Union Minister said that the followers of the Dalai Lama believe that the avatar will be decided only by the established tradition and the will of the current Dalai Lama.
Kiren Rijiju, a minister in the Modi government, said that the Buddhists living in India believe in the education and tradition of the Dalai Lama. He said that no other person or country can decide who will be the successor of the Dalai Lama. Earlier, China had said that the next Dalai Lama would have to get approval from it and also tell its identity in China. If seen in this way, India’s opinion has come on the Dalai Lama’s opinion of monopoly stance of monopoly. China’s statement about the Dalai Lama’s successor came because of this, the current Dalai Lama on Wednesday said that the Gaden Fodarong Trust formed on his behalf is the only institution to recognize the successor. The Dalai Lama made this important announcement before his 90th birthday on 6 July.
Actually, China always opposes the Dalai Lama. When China captured Tibet, the current Dalai Lama lived in Lhasa. The Chinese government imposed all sanctions on the Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama’s life was also threatened. Sensing this, the current Dalai Lama escaped from Tibet to India in 1959 with all the followers. He was given shelter by the then government of Jawaharlal Nehru. The Dalai Lama and his Tibetan followers have lived in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh since then. The exile government of Tibet also runs from Dharamshala. For this reason, China is furious with the Dalai Lama and is fighting to choose his successor and put it on the throne of Lhasa.
