New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today spoke to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha over the phone on the tragedy due to cloudburst in Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir. The PM reviewed the situation and assured to provide all possible assistance from the central government. The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir said that about 60 people have died in this tragedy so far. More than 100 people are injured and many are missing, who currently have no information.

Omar said that I have condolences to all the aggrieved families who have lost their loved ones. Along with this, the CM further said that I wish those who have been injured in this tragedy as soon as possible. I assure the people of Kishtwar on behalf of the government that all possible help will be made available to you, there will be no shortage.

On the other hand, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah said on the tragedy incident, I believe that more than 500 people are still stuck in the debris in Kishtwar and some officials say that the number may be more than 1,000. At present, rescue operations are going on, missing people are being searched. Farooq said that today on Independence Day, I had happiness in my eyes and tears about this tragedy. Tears were because I too have been the Chief Minister here. Let us tell you that there has been a severe havoc in Chisauti village of Kishtwar due to cloudburst. The team of NDRF, SDRF, Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police are engaged in relief and rescue operations in the village. Relief problems of bad weather are also coming.
