Kolkata. The parents of the doctor who was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, have targeted CM Mamata Banerjee. The doctor’s mother told the media that CM Mamata Banerjee said that the family does not want justice. She said that Mamata Banerjee does not have a son or a daughter. Because of this, she cannot understand the pain of losing a child. The doctor’s mother said that we are very saddened by CM Mamata Banerjee’s statement. She also asked those agitating for justice to the doctor to continue it. The doctor’s mother said that the whole world stands with my daughter.

On the other hand, the father of the raped and murdered doctor has clarified that he does not know how the phone conversation between the family and the Assistant Superintendent of RG Kar Medical College went viral on news channels. He said that he does not take any responsibility for it. When asked if the voice in the call is his, the doctor’s father said that you are saying so, but I do not find it so. On the other hand, Indira Mukherjee, Deputy Commissioner of Central Division in Kolkata Police, told the media that many channels have played the audio clip. Kolkata Police never said that the doctor had committed suicide.

A doctor pursuing PG studies at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College was raped on the intervening night of 8 and 9 August. The doctor was then murdered. In this case, Kolkata Police arrested its civic volunteer Sanjay Rai. Later, the Calcutta High Court handed over the investigation of this case to the CBI. According to the CBI, Sanjay Rai is the only accused so far. However, investigation is on to get to the bottom of the matter. In this case, the CBI has also questioned the former principal of RG Kar Medical College, Sandeep Ghosh, several times. The CBI is also investigating the alleged corruption of Sandeep Ghosh.
