Kolkata. The atmosphere is heated in the case of rape and murder of a female doctor in RG Kar Medical College of Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. CBI investigation is going on in this case. Kolkata Police had arrested Sanjay Rai, the accused in the rape and murder case of the doctor in RG Kar Medical College. CBI also questioned him. In the interrogation, Sanjay Rai claimed that he did not rape and murder the doctor. Now the English newspaper Times of India has reported that Sanjay Rai has told his lawyer that he is being framed in this case.
According to the newspaper report, Sanjay Rai has told his lawyer Kavita Sarkar that he is innocent. The CBI also conducted a polygraph test to verify Sanjay Rai’s statement. During the polygraph test, Sanjay Rai claimed that on the intervening night of 8 and 9 August, he went to the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College. There he saw a female doctor covered in blood. According to Sanjay Rai’s lawyer, his client ran out of the room in panic and during this his Bluetooth band fell there. Sanjay Rai also told during the polygraph test that he did not know the doctor. When the CBI asked him why he did not tell the police about this, Sanjay Rai said that he thought no one would believe him.
After the rape and murder of the doctor in RG Kar Medical College, Sanjay Rai fled from the spot and went to sleep in the barrack of an ASI. Sanjay Rai was a civic volunteer in Kolkata Police. He was also given a police bike. Before the incident, he had also gone to the red light area of Kolkata with one of his friends. Earlier it was reported that Sanjay Rai had also molested a girl while going on a bike with his friend.
