Imphal. Attempts are being made to worsen the situation in Manipur which has been simmering for more than a year. The government has received intelligence that 900 Kuki militants have infiltrated Manipur from Myanmar. In such a situation, security forces have been made more alert due to the fear of violence increasing. Violence has been going on between the Kuki and Meitei communities in Manipur for a long time. To stop this, the central government has deployed security forces on a large scale. Despite this, violence is taking place there every day. A few days ago, Kuki militants dropped bombs on the villages and temples of the Meitei community using drones. A temple was attacked with a rocket launcher. The priest lost his life in this. Now the news of infiltration of 900 Kuki militants from Myanmar makes it clear that foreign forces are active to keep Manipur disturbed.
Violence between the Meitei and Kuki communities in Manipur started after a decision of the High Court. The Manipur High Court had ordered more reservation for the Meitei community in government jobs etc. The violence started after this order. The people of the Meitei community follow the Hindu religion. On the other hand, the people of the Kuki community are Christians. After the violence started, two Kuki girls were paraded naked. This also worsened the situation. Since then, efforts are on to control the violence in Manipur. The Meitei community lives in the plains of Manipur. On the other hand, the Kuki community resides in the hilly areas of Manipur.
In an effort to end the violence in Manipur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also went to Imphal. He met the leaders of the Kuki and Meitei communities there. PM Narendra Modi, while giving a statement in the Lok Sabha, condemned the violence in Manipur and the parade of naked women. Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also visited Manipur. Rahul Gandhi and Congress leaders have been constantly alleging that PM Modi is not visiting Manipur and the violence there is not stopping. It has also been discussed that the people of the Kuki community do drug business in Manipur and when the state’s N. Biren Singh government started taking action against them, the Kuki community started playing the game of violence on the pretext of reservation.
