New Delhi. In February Mann Ki Baat program, PM Narendra Modi expressed concern over the increasing obesity among the people. A day later, he had entrusted the responsibility of making people aware of obesity by forming a team of 10 well -known people. Now an analysis has been printed on obesity in a scientific magazine named ‘The Lancet’. According to this analysis, by 2050, 44 crore people in India have been feared to be obese. The analysis printed in The Lancet has been written by international researchers. According to the researchers, by the middle of this century, India may have obesity in Rs 21.8 crore and 23.10 crore women. Whereas, China will be at number one in terms of obesity. In the case of obese people, America will be third, Brazil fourth and Nigeria fifth place.

This research showed that 1 billion men in the world and more than 1 billion women in the world were obese in 2021. This number is about half of the world. Whereas in India, obesity was found in 80.1 lakh males and 90.8 lakh women. According to the research team, by 2050, the number of thick people can increase by 3.8 billion. These will be 1.9 billion women and 1.8 billion men. This number will be more than half of the world’s population.

Researchers estimate that about 16 lakh boys and more than 14 lakh girls in India will be obese by 2050. At the same time, the number of thick people in India will increase significantly. According to Emmanuela Gakidau, the head of the Institute for Health Matrix and Evolution of Washington University, coordinating this research, obesity is an unprecedented, deep tragedy and social failure. People facing obesity require immediate treatment. Explain that obesity also causes stress in addition to heart disease, liver disturbances and diabetes i.e. sugar disease.
