Between 2 and 7 July, UAE and India’s flights ticket prices reached DH2,500-DH3,000. But after 8 July, flights between the two countries are going to fall in a big fall in the price of tickets. Air fares are seen to fall by DH1,450-DH1,600, which is rarely seen in such weather.
Fare has also declined on highly busy routes like Mumbai (DH1,161), Bengaluru (DH1,604) and Thiruvananthapuram (DH1,565). The average fare for these routes during July-August 2024 was DH1,800 for Mumbai and DH2,700 for Bangalore, making it difficult for many passengers to book final moments.
Smart Travel Chairman Af Ahmed said, “The fares going to India till July 7 are quite high, especially for Tier-2 cities. There is no seats in flights for Kochi and Kozhikode. But surprisingly, the fares have fallen to the summer levels of 2021-2022 after July 8, the travelers’ confidence in the summer levels. According to Ahmed, last time such fare was seen only after the epidemic, when the trust on the journey was weak and many restrictions were applicable.
Ahmed says that from last year, from mid -July to the end of August, returns reached the airfare DH3,000. In the summer months, the demand for travel was extremely high – as it could not be satisfied. But this year the situation is not visible.
On July 2 from Dubai International Airport (DXB), flights have been seen in the fares of flights to various cities of India. The fare for Bengaluru reached DH2,105, while DH2,205 for Thiruvananthapuram.
For small cities like Mangalore, Lucknow, Varanasi and Kozhikode, on which budget airlines serve mainly – high fare from DH2,500 to DH3,000 were recorded. Even connecting flights are proving expensive for metro cities like Bangalore (DH1,622) and Mumbai (DH1,248).
Heavy decline in fares after July 8:
Thiruvananthapuram: DH1,565
Mumbai: DH1,161
Chennai: DH1,809
New Delhi: DH1,163
Stability in fares due to increasing number of flights
The increase in the number of flights between UAE and India is also an important cause of the softening of air fares. Especially budget airlines such as IndiGo and Akasa have introduced new flights and have increased flight frequency on many routes, especially from Abu Dhabi. Due to this, passengers have started getting more options and there is stability in fares. However, passengers are still advised to book tickets as soon as possible, so that they can ensure the most economical fares. Because prices may fluctuate depending on demand and availability of seats.
